Welcome to Michigan, where the U.S. knows us for our lakes, our winters, and notoriously for our roads. As I travel the states, anytime the CB chatter turns to roads, Michigan gets mentioned in a terrible light. I know it cannot be helped, Michigan has had a couple decades of hard knocks and slashed road budgets, after the last two economic down turns.
I say its time to rebuild. It's time to stop reinventing Michigan and start rebuilding and reinvesting in Michigan and its people. We have a state budget surplus, we could use it to start rebuilding our state's crumbling structures and roads.
